1. Who is responsible for your data

2. Data we process
2.1. When you use the VPN
To establish a VPN connection, the app generates an encryption key pair on your device and sends the public key and a server-selection request to our control server. We do not log the websites you visit, your traffic content, or your browsing history. Your traffic travels through an encrypted WireGuard tunnel.
2.2. Usage analytics (optional — off by default)
If you choose to enable "Usage analytics", we may collect: how often you use the app, which features you use, and connection performance statistics (for example, speed and connection duration). This data is used to improve the service and is not tied to the content you access.
2.3. Bandwidth sharing (optional — off by default)
If you choose to enable "Bandwidth sharing" in exchange for free Pro, part of your bandwidth and your IP address may be used by other users (or customers of a partner network) to route their traffic. Before enabling it, the app shows a clear risk warning and asks you to confirm that you understand it. You can disable it at any time.
2.4. Advertising
The free version may display in-app ads. When it does, advertising partners (for example, Google AdMob) may process your device's advertising identifier and technical data to serve ads, under their own policies. Ads disappear when you upgrade to Pro.
2.5. Pro activation / License
If you use a license key, the key is stored on your device and sent to our server to verify its validity.
2.6. Basic technical data
When the app contacts our server, minimal technical data may be processed temporarily to operate the service: app version, operating system version, and the connection's IP address (needed to respond to your request).
3. Purposes & legal bases
- To provide and operate the VPN service (performance of our service agreement with you).
- Usage analytics, advertising, and bandwidth sharing rely solely on your consent (opt-in), which you can withdraw at any time.
- Security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.
4. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your personal data. Data is shared only in these cases:
- Infrastructure providers hosting our VPN/control servers.
- Advertising partners (if you use the ad-supported version).
- Bandwidth-sharing network partners — only if you enable that feature.
- Where required by valid legal process.
5. Storage & retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described. When you withdraw consent or request deletion, we delete the related data unless the law requires us to keep it. Your settings and consents are stored locally on your device.
6. Security
Connections to our server are encrypted with HTTPS; VPN traffic is encrypted with WireGuard. We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no system is perfectly secure.
7. Your rights
Subject to GDPR and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to: access, correct, and delete your data; withdraw consent; object to or restrict processing; and lodge a complaint with a competent authority. To exercise these rights, contact support@vutvpn.app.
8. Children
VutVPN is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. International data transfers
Our servers may be located outside your country. When you use the service, the technical data needed to operate the connection may be processed in those countries.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When there are significant changes, the app will ask you to review and re-confirm the sensitive options.
